Trauma Anesthesia Fellowship

program director imageWelcome to the Trauma Anesthesiology Fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.  Our program is based at The Elvis Presley Trauma Center at Regional One Health, a very busy Level 1 Trauma Center, treating over 4,500 critically injured patients annually. As the only Level 1 facility within a 150-mile radius, serving Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas and Missouri. This fellowship offers a structured pathway for advanced education in the perioperative management of high-acuity trauma patients, preparing you to deliver expert care in this complex and fast-paced environment.

Fellows will gain hands-on experience in trauma anesthesiology through rotations in the Trauma Operating room, Burn Operating room, Shock Trauma Bay, Trauma ICU, and Burn ICU. Additional elective opportunities include Acute Pain, Regional Anesthesia and Echocardiography/Ultrasound, providing a well-rounded and comprehensive training experience.

Whether you are interested in an academic career or clinical leadership, our program is designed to provide the skills and experience necessary for success in the evolving field of trauma anesthesiology.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. Our Program Manager, Renee Farrell (vfarrell@uthsc.edu), and I (sfasbind@uthsc.edu) are here to support you throughout this journey.

Best regards,
