Pediatric Radiology Fellowship
The Program Consists of Several Rotations:
- 12 weeks of Fluoroscopy, plain films (with NICU and PICU concentration) and Nuclear Medicine –- Concentration on Pulmonary and GI disease
- 13 weeks Ultrasound and plain films -– Concentration on GI and GU disease and Orthopedics
- 14 weeks CT/MRI (including Neuroradiology and Orthopedics with some Cardiac MRI) –- Concentration on Neuroradiology and Orthopedics
- 2 weeks Interventional Radiology / Angiography
- 3 weeks Fetal Treatment Center –- Fetal Maternal Medicine
- 4 weeks Pediatric Hematology Oncology Rotation at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
- 1 week conference or research time
Fellows will also have a 40 lecture curriculum that is separate from the UTHSC – Methodist Radiology resident curriculum. They can attend both groups of lectures.
Applicants
In order to be considered for the program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be able to provide proof of completion of a LCME – approved U.S. or Canadian Medical School, or AOA accredited Osteopathic Medical School.
- Satisfactory completion of a diagnostic radiology residency program accredited by the ACGME or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
- Must be able to provide proof of passing USMLE steps 1, 2, 3 to the program director and GME office.

Applications for the academic year beginning July 1 will be accepted September-February.
Interviews
Interviews are by invitation. Selected applicants will be contacted with potential interview dates.
IMG Requirements
International Medical Graduates:
- Must a have valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate and should have satisfactorily completed a diagnostic radiology residency position in an ACGME accredited or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
- Must be able to provide proof of passing USMLE steps 1, 2, 3 to the program director and GME office.
Visa status for International Medical Graduates must fall within the following categories:
- Eligible to seek J-1 visa
- Permanent resident or Alien status (i.e., “Green Card”)
In accordance with University of Tennessee Graduate Medical Education guidelines, this program does not sponsor fellows for “H” type visas.
