Research Help

To help you with scientific writing, GME has identified a well experienced clinician scientist who is willing to review and offer you suggestions on first drafts of research abstracts, posters, grants, and publications. This faculty member is David Stern, MD. Dr. Stern can be reached by dropping by his office in 212A Coleman, calling his cell to set up a meeting (901.598.0982), or by sending your document for review to dstern@uthsc.edu and request a review/critique or a meeting.

IRB

The Institutional Review Board (IRB) is a committee established to assist in protecting the rights and welfare of human participants involved in research activities.

Printing Instructions

  1. Create a .pdf and .ppt file of your poster.
  2. Contact UT print shop through email (printing@uthsc.edu), phone (901.448.5553) or in person (910 Madison Avenue, C20, Memphis, TN 38163).
  3. Requests can be made through the UTHSC print site. Contact Amanda Roberts at intmed@uthsc.edu to get the payment account information to complete the form.
  4. Coordinate the printing process with print shop. Usually takes 3-5 days minimum.
  5. Pick up your poster when you receive notification from print shop.

Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design Unit Assistance

The Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design (BERD) Unit of offers assistance to investigators at three locations on campus, in addition to “Virtual BERD” meetings, via . Residents can, with advance registration, come in for biostatistics, epidemiology, and research design consultations. These consultations are intended to help researchers understand the underlying statistical aspects of their research design so they can adequately plan projects (e.g. study design, analytic approaches, simple power analyses). .
